Martha Peterson‘s entire career began, ran and went on hiatus, all in the scope of one year, with her only appearance (the only appearance noteworthy enough to catch our collective eye, anyway…) being in the 1987 screwball comedy Firehouse. The film wasn’t what one might call a “Blockbuster,” so it really comes as no surprise…We, however, would like to come out and say that we wish Martha had pursued her Thespian Dreams a bit further, considering her role in the aforementioned film. She stars as one of the three central characters, a few ladies hired on to the worst fire department in “the city” where outlandish wackiness subsequently ensues. Naturally, some of that wackiness involves a shower scene/fake fire alarm gag that finds our heroines sliding down the brass pole with their hooters a-heaving. For those who have seen the film and are wondering, Martha’s the one with the fiery red hair and the more-than-ample rack. Like we said… It’s a real shame she hasn’t gone on to much else…
